XYZ Karting - Frame protector installation instructions

Please follow these instructions to ensure proper installation and performance:

1.- Remove the red release liner from the adhesive strip inside the protector.

2.- Center the protector at the bottom of the frame.

  • In the case of the front protector center it towards the middle of the kart front frame.  Leave some space between the protector "ears" and the underside aluminum plate (picture A).  This gap will be use to loop the zip ties.

  • For the lateral protectors, place the tapered end towards the front of the kart.  Similarly leave some space between the protector "ears" and the underside aluminum plate (picture A).  This gap will be used to loop the zip ties.
  • Always avoid frame curvatures or weld sections to ensure proper placement.

3.- Insert the zip tie tail through the gap between the frame and the alumunium underside plate and on the outside of the frame protector "ear" (picture A).  Zip tie's bukcle should rest around the top of the frame (picture B).

7.- Repeat steps 3-7 on the other side of the protector, using the other zip tie that came with the kip.

8.- Inspect the protectors after every session and replace them when protector material has worn out and frame is close to be exposed.

9.- To remove the protector, cut the zip ties.  Use a set of pliers and pry it out.  It's preferrable to wiggle and apply less force across multiple points than too much force on a single point (picture J).
